Pom Pom is located in the heart of the Okavango in a private concession to the west of the Moremi Game Reserve
in the heart of the Okavango Delta and on the head waters of the Xudum river system - Pom Pom is a permanent water camp offering water activities throughout the year.
The area lies on the western boundary of the Moremi Game Reserve and offers superb Okavango scenery and a true Okavango wilderness experience.
This is a 12-bedded traditional safari camp, built and designed in the style of safari camps of old. Six large walk-in tents have en suite showers and flush toilets. The bathrooms are enclosed, but roofless - for a true bush experience. There is no electricity in the camp - instead, paraffin lamps give a wonderfully warm atmosphere
The main building is attractively designed and constructed of thatch and canvas and comprises lounge, dining, bar and pool areas, as well as a gift shop and the boma area.
Meals at Pom Pom Camp are served by a campfire in a clearing in the Okavango Delta or in the mess tent, washed down with fine wines from Pom Pom Camp’s fully stocked bar. Pom Pom Camp also has a plunge pool to help guests escape the midday heat.
Pom Pom offers game drives, night drives, walking safaris and mokoro excursions .
All the big predators, and Buffalo, Giraffe, Zebra, Wildebeest can be seen. If you are lucky, some of the nocturnal animals such as Serval, Civet and Genet may be seen on night drives.
Guests can choose from game drives, nature walks, fisihg and mokoro excursions. Night drives in open 4x4 Land Rovers are also permitted as the Camp is outside the Moremi Game Reserve. Hippo and Crocodile are found in the deeper lagoons in the area. Birding enthusiasts will enjoy sighting Pells Fisihg Owl, African Fish Eagle, Giant Eagle Owl and White Backed Vultures.
